Many smart lock integrations stop at Airbnb. Lock Orchestrator reads your VRBO calendar the same way it reads every other one, and gives each VRBO guest their own verified door code on your SmartThings or Hubitat lock.

VRBO to lock in three steps.
- Copy your VRBO calendar link. In your VRBO host dashboard, open the listing's calendar, find the import/export (calendar sync) option and copy the export link. More detail.
- Connect your hub and pick the lock. SmartThings or Hubitat; locks are discovered for you.
- Paste the link into a property. Upcoming stays appear with their codes, ready to send in your check-in message.
Sending the code. Lock Orchestrator doesn't message guests. Copy the PIN from the reservation into your usual check-in message or VRBO's scheduled messages.
A smooth check-in protects more than your guest's first impression. Vrbo's policy effective October 15, 2026 treats unresolved access at or after check-in that leads to an agent cancelling the booking as denied entry. This can mean losing the booking payout, an additional cancellation fee and listing suspension, subject to applicability and waivers. Read Vrbo's policy.

Does VRBO need to approve the connection?
No. Lock Orchestrator reads the calendar export link VRBO gives every host. Nothing is installed on your VRBO account.
How does the guest get the code?
The code is shown on the reservation in your dashboard before check-in. Send it with your usual check-in message or VRBO's scheduled messages.
Can I run VRBO and Airbnb on the same property?
Yes. Each property can take its bookings from any calendar feed you use, and one account covers every property.
When is the guest code created and deleted?
The PIN is written 60 minutes before check-in and deleted 15 minutes after checkout. When a calendar only gives dates, check-in is taken as 3:00 PM and checkout as 10:00 AM in the property's time zone, and you can edit any reservation's times in the dashboard.
